As the weather warms, the days are longer, and the flowers are blossoming, I can’t help but feel a feminine energy in the air. As a spiritually-awakened woman, this energy activates a need for deep healing within me, not only for myself, but also for my ancestors and for the collective.
The Sacral Chakra is our second chakra, located above the hips but below the navel. The associated element for the Sacral is water, which allows us to move with ease and flow with the waves of life. The energy here is more delicate, more nurturing, more creative. When healing becomes a priority, the soft feminine energy of the Sacral Chakra not only helps us to awaken our true selves, our creativity, and our sexuality, but it can also help us to create internal and external balance within our lives.
The Sanskrit name for this chakra is Swadhisthana, when translated means one’s own sacred dwelling place. This chakra houses our emotions, passions, and pleasures - which area areas of our lives that we hold scared and bring us joy.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE AN IMBALANCE IN YOUR SACRAL CHAKRA:

Our sacral chakra can be impacted by energetic baggage that we carry over from our root chakra (our foundation & sense of security), which can prevent us from feeling safe to experience joy.
When the Sacral Chakra is functioning optimally, we are content, uninhibited in our relationships and creative endeavors, and capable of deep intimacy, and we exude a joyful vibrancy.
On a physical level, when the energy in your Sacral Chakra shifts, you can see changes in your digestive and hormonal systems, as this chakra governs the sexual organs, liver, hormones, upper intestines, and spleen.

START YOUR SACRAL CHAKRA HEALING JOURNEY:
Color: Orange
Element: Water
Crystals: Carnelian, Citrine, Sunstone, Moonstone (rainbow or pink)
My absolute favorite way to work with and connect to my Sacral Chakra is to take a Spiritual Bath, since the element of this chakra is water. I surround the bath with crystals, herbs & flowers, essential oils, sea salt or epsom salt, and candles. These are essential pieces to this practice, as they call in all the elements (water, earth, air, fire) for a truly healing experience in every way.
Herbs are incredible for healing! You can use whatever you have in your garden, or you can use dried herbs and/or essential oils. I personally love to add rosemary, lavender, and mint to every Spiritual Bath. Flowers are important as well, as flowers are incredibly high vibrational gifts from Mother Earth, the greatest source of feminine energy. Add the flowers that you feel called to add. For a Sacral Chakra bath, I suggest flowers that are orange or warm in color, but ultimately add what you want because it is what is right for you. Don’t overthink this, just pick what feels good for you. If you have no idea where to start, grab some roses from the store (any color of your choice is perfect), as roses are the ultimate symbol of love, and in this case, this bath is the essence of self-love.
Add some essential oils to your water, in addition to a sprinkle of sea salt or epsom salt. Sacral oils are orange, clary sage, patchouli, neroli, and rose. If you don’t have these on hand, use one that feels healing for you, an oil that lifts your spirits and connects with your soul. Using natural fragrances and products is going to be more balancing for this area of your body.
HOW TO TAKE A SPIRITUAL BATH:
Gather all your ingredients
Turn the lights low or off completely (candlelight)
Get some water for hydration
Pick your favorite playlist or listen to Sacral Chakra Music (fav: meditative mind link)
Start running your water
Set Your Intention for The bath (read more on this below)
Step into the water
One by one, add all the ingredients to the water, being intentional and connecting to each one’s healing energy before placing it into the water or onto your body, giving gratitude for it’s assistance during this healing bath
Connect to your sacral chakra (exercise below)
Enjoy the bath and do whatever it is that you feel called to do. Put the herbs and petals on your body, sing, cry - just allow yourself the gentleness to go with the flow of where your body wants to take you for your greatest healing.
When the bath is complete, you will know it is time. Give thanks for this experience and remember your intention. Gently remove all the things from your water and off your body
SET THE INTENTION:
This spiritual bath can be customized to your healing! Symbolically, a bath is a great experience to either cleanse your energy, release negative energies, and/or submerge yourself in new energies. I suggest creating a healing portal, so to speak.
For instance, once I step into the bath ____ will happen, and once I step out of the bath, the outcome is ____. An example of this could be: Once I step into this bath, I will connect to my Sacral Chakra and the energies it is storing within me. The plants, crystals, and elements I place into the water and onto my body will assist and amplify my healing journey today. Once I step out of the bath, all low-vibrating energies are removed from my body and energetic field.
WHEN TO DO A SACRAL CHAKRA BATH:
You can do a sacral cleansing bath in the morning, evening, even during lunch. Weekends may offer you a little more time, but you can take a spiritual bath whenever you want! You can do them daily, and they are a great tool if you are feeling down, burnt out, aggravated, or low-vibe.
A full moon is a beautiful time to release energies from your Sacral Chakra with this spiritual bath. This area is our womb, our mother, the space of creation. She holds our memories, our emotions, and the energies of everyone we’ve allowed into our bodies, into our sacred space.
A new moon is a powerful time to call in balance and peace into this area of your body and energetic field.

EXERCISE: CONNECT TO THE SACRAL CHAKRA:
Close eyes
Put your hands on your Sacral area (below navel, womb area)
As you breathe in, focus on bringing the breath deep into the bottom of your belly, allowing light to fill this area with each breath
In your mind’s eye, notice if you are being shown any colors or images.
As you hold this area of your body, pour into it unconditional love, support, and a feeling of safety. Let your body know that it is safe to express and release what it is holding onto.
Go where you are led by the wisdom of the body. If you are just getting started, start small, start with softness and compassion. Know that this is your body and you are safe to explore. Nothing can hurt you here, but if you are not ready to dive into trauma, simply breathe into this area. You can say affirmations, OR you can consider some of the questions below.
This is your practice, so make it your own. Just go into it with no expectations and give the body permission to take you on a journey of self-discovery and healing. There is no right or wrong here, so trust your intuition, TRUST the wisdom of the body and where it takes you.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN WORKING WITH YOUR SACRAL CHAKRA:
You can ask these questions in your meditation or you can journal about these before or after your bath.
In what areas of life do I feel unfulfilled and why? Where do I feel the most fulfilled?
Do I allow myself to fully experience joy and pleasure?
Am I fully enjoying my life? If not, what is getting in the way of my authentic joy?
What does abundance feel like to me?
Am I comfortable with my physical body, my appearance, and my sexuality?
What does balance feel like in my body? What/who disrupts my balance?
What traumatic events am I storing in my sacral chakra?
AFFIRMATIONS OF THE SACRAL CHAKRA:
I am love, and I am loved.
I honor my emotions and my needs.
I allow myself the space to create and play.
I am joyful.
My body is sacred.
I honor my body.
I allow myself to experience pleasure.
I am safe.
Creativity flows through me.
My energy creates balance.

This first time I dove into sacral healing, I was flooded with memories of people with whom I had been intimate. I could feel, smell, and remember exact details - I had to relive these experiences as I released them from my body. I took this process very slowly, knowing that there were some traumatic experiences I wasn’t ready to face just yet. After this deep healing work, my cycle was less intense and cramps went away.
When these physical symptoms start to creep back in - cramps getting more intense, periods becoming heavier, PMS symptoms being an issue - I know that this is my Sacral Chakra letting me know it is time to dive back into my womb, as I am ready for deeper healing.
There is power, a deep healing power, that is ignited within you from working with the cycles of your body. Instead of hating my period or feeling as if it is a nuisance, I am grateful for this cycle, grateful for the release and renewal that comes with this monthly purging, and grateful for the wisdom the body holds. This is making peace with the body, and in turn the body can release what is not serving you. This is working WITH your body instead of fighting what it is ready for you to face so that you can heal.

I healed chronic low back pain that I suffered with daily for over 10 years.
I stopped having miserable periods, debilitating cramps, and intense PMS symptoms because I made peace with my cycle and learned how to work with it instead of against it.
I unraveled layers of childhood, adolescent, teenage, and ancestral trauma.
I learned to create balance and find peace, which makes me a more loving and patient mom.
I was able to recognize the toxic patterns and cycles in my life and detach from them
I learned to truly love myself and learn my self-worth. Anyone who does not match the level of love and respect I have for myself has been removed from my life.
I created boundaries with myself and with others, and therefore my life and my relationships are much more fulfilling.
I realized that I am not alone and am always supported by a massive divine army that is here to help. All I have to do is ask.
I learned to work with the Earth and her energies.
I learned to fill my own cup and only give from my overflow.
I created work-life balance, and now my career adds to my vitality and I work a lot less.
I learned to not let stress completely overwhelm me.
I honor my emotions and allow myself to feel whatever comes up because I know it is for a deeper healing so that I can live in a higher vibration.
